Mobile Companion — Overview

Computtite Mobile Companion is the field operations extension for Computtite. It brings asset scanning, batch operations, and real-time updates to Android and iOS devices — so IT work doesn't stop when your team leaves the desk.

The Companion is not a standalone product. It connects exclusively to Supabase Cloud workspaces created and managed in Computtite Desktop. If your workspace uses local mode, you'll need to migrate it to cloud mode before the Companion can connect. See Local Mode and Cloud Mode for details.

What It Does (and Doesn't)

The Companion covers the physical, on-site side of asset management — scanning, auditing, and updating hardware in the field without walking back to a computer.

What the Companion does:

  • Scan QR codes and Code-128 barcodes to instantly look up assets
  • Batch scan assets into a Scan Bag and bulk-process them (assign, return, maintenance, audit)
  • Conduct physical department audits — compare what you scanned against what the system expects
  • Update asset status and assignments on-site
  • Monitor workspace activity and alerts in real time
  • Search assets and employees
  • Generate and export QR codes for untagged hardware

What the Companion does not do:

  • Create or modify workspace schema — that's Forge, in Computtite Desktop
  • Manage workspace members or permission profiles
  • Run reports or export data to CSV, Excel, or Notion
  • Work offline — an active internet connection is required at all times
  • Connect to local mode workspaces

Current Version

Computtite Mobile Companion v1.0.0 — released June 24, 2026. Initial release for Android and iOS.

Requirements

  • Platform: Android or iOS.
  • Workspace: An active Computtite Cloud workspace (Supabase-backed). Local mode workspaces are not supported.
  • Account: The same Computtite account you use in the Desktop app.
  • Internet: Required at all times. The Companion connects to your cloud workspace in real time — there is no offline fallback.

Your Permission Profile Follows You

Your role and permission profile from the Desktop workspace apply automatically on mobile. You can only perform actions that your role permits — a Viewer on Desktop is a read-only Viewer on mobile. Admins cannot grant themselves additional capabilities through the Companion. Everything is enforced at the database level.
