Installation
Computtite is a free native desktop application for IT asset management. It runs entirely on your machine — no browser tab, no web dependency. The installer is small (under 20 MB), starts in under a second, and integrates naturally with your operating system's window controls, file manager, and notification system.
System Requirements
- macOS: macOS 11 Big Sur or later, Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4). Intel Macs are not officially supported in v3.
- Windows: Windows 10 or Windows 11, 64-bit.
- Linux: Any modern distribution. Tested on Ubuntu 22.04+, Fedora 38+, Arch Linux.
- Display: Minimum 900 × 600 px.
- Disk space: Around 80–150 MB depending on platform. Your workspace data grows with your inventory, but typical setups stay well under 50 MB even with thousands of assets.
- Internet: Only needed for Cloud mode and integrations (Google Sheets, Notion). Local mode works completely offline.
Installing on macOS
Download the .dmg disk image from the Downloads page. Open it, then drag Computtite.app into your Applications folder. On first launch, macOS may show a prompt about an app downloaded from the internet — click Open Anyway from System Settings → Privacy & Security. You won't see this again after the first launch.
You can reposition the window by dragging from the sidebar area. Computtite respects your macOS light/dark mode, though you can override it from within the app.
Installing on Windows
Download the Computtite_x.y.z_x64-setup.exe installer and run it. No administrator privileges are required in most cases. Computtite will appear in your Start Menu and can be pinned to the taskbar. An uninstaller is registered in Windows Settings → Apps.
If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning on first run, click More info → Run anyway. This is normal for newly released software and resolves over time.
Installing on Linux
Download the .AppImage file, mark it as executable, and run it:
chmod +x Computtite_3.5.1_amd64.AppImage
./Computtite_3.5.1_amd64.AppImage
No installation step is needed — the file is self-contained and runs from any directory. You can integrate it with your application launcher using a tool like AppImageLauncher.
Updating Computtite
Computtite has a built-in update checker. Go to Settings → Updates to check for new releases manually or enable automatic update checks. When an update is available, it downloads in the background and asks you to restart. Your workspace data is never affected by updates.
