Preferences
Computtite's preferences panel (Settings → Preferences) controls the application's visual appearance, language, and telemetry behavior. These settings are stored locally per device and do not sync to other devices in cloud mode.
Language
Computtite is fully localized in English and Spanish. Every string in the UI — buttons, field labels, error messages, status indicators, reports, and onboarding — is available in both languages. Switch languages at any time from the language selector in Preferences. The change applies immediately without a restart.
The default locale is Spanish. Users in English-speaking environments should switch on first launch.
Themes
Choose from three theme options:
- Dark (default): A dark background with carefully tuned text contrast. Recommended for extended use and low-light environments.
- Light: A light background suitable for bright environments and accessibility preferences.
- System: Follows your operating system's current appearance setting. If your OS switches between light and dark automatically (e.g., based on time of day on macOS), Computtite follows suit.
Accent Color
The accent color is used for interactive elements: buttons, active states, focus rings, progress indicators, and highlighted text. The default is #7c3aed (violet). You can change it to any color from the color picker in Preferences. The change applies immediately throughout the UI.
UI Tone
The tone setting (Simple / Advanced) controls how much technical detail and configuration depth is shown in the interface. This was set during Forge workspace creation but can be changed any time. See the First Workspace page for a detailed explanation of each tone.
Telemetry
Computtite includes an optional, privacy-respecting telemetry system. Telemetry is opt-in — it is not enabled by default, and you are asked during first launch whether you want to participate.
When enabled, telemetry collects:
- Usage events: Which features you use (e.g., "opened Forge editor", "exported report to CSV"). No asset data, employee names, or field values are ever included.
- Error events: Unhandled exceptions with a stack trace. No user data is included in error reports.
- Metrics: Numeric measurements like report generation time or sync cycle duration.
All telemetry is identified by an anonymous installation ID generated locally. This ID does not contain or reference your email, name, or any account information. In local mode, telemetry is never sent regardless of this setting.
Disabling telemetry from the Preferences panel stops all collection immediately and purges any queued events from the local database. You can re-enable at any time.
